How does it work?
Sensica have developed their very own hair removal technology called Reactive Pulsed Light (RPL). They've built their technology on the world-renowned IPL technology, but have gone a step further with built-in sensors which continuously monitor your skin’s condition and tone throughout your treatments. These sensors react by only emitting a flash if your skin is suitable for the treatment.
RPL delivers flashes of light into the skin, which is absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft. This light energy turns into heat energy, which destroys the hair at the root to stunt hair regrowth.
How to use
Step 1: Shave the treatment area and remove any jewellery.
Step 2: Power on the device and select your preferred energy setting.
Step 3: Place the device’s treatment window on the area you want to treat, ensuring full contact is made.
Step 4: Press the trigger button for a single flash. To activate the glide mode, hold the trigger button down as you move the device over the treatment area.
Step 5: Follow up with your favourite moisturiser.
Who is it suitable for?
Due to the way RPL technology works, the device isn’t suitable for everyone. As the light energy is absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft, the device won’t work on blonde or grey hair as these hair types do not contain enough melanin. Red hair is also not responsive to RPL.
You should also check your skin tone on the Fitzpatrick Scale to see if it’s compatible with the Sensilight Mini. You shouldn’t use this device on very dark skin tones (VI).
Why we love it
The Sensilight Mini is so lightweight and compact, meaning it’s easy to treat even smaller areas of the body with precision. Its smaller size also means it’s the perfect travel companion too, so you’ll never need to worry about being without your hair removal device ever again.
We love that the device has two treatment modes - stamp and glide. You can choose between one stamp at a time for treating areas with precision, or continuous flashes for treating larger surface areas quickly.
It also has a contact sensor, which ensures full contact is made between the device and your skin. The device won’t emit a flash if it recognises there’s a break in contact.
