One of the more sophisticated silhouettes in the Air Jordan line, the designer, Tinker Hatfield, actually got the inspiration from a poster featuring African tribal art about an upcoming Afro Pop music show. Add in the fact that Michael Jordan himself requested that the Air Jordan 7 "stay young and interesting, while remaining sophisticated", and it was a done deal. Thus, in 1992, Nike released the Air Jordan 7 and now Jordan Brand is revamping the model for the girls and ladies.
