The Boys’ Preschool Nike Huarache Run is the children’s sizing for the iconic Nike running shoe. Originally released in 1991, the Huarache was a performance running shoe that helped revolutionize the fit and feel of athletic footwear as we know it now. It was designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Nike sneaker designer famous for many classic sneakers throughout the brand’s history. After running shoe technology progressed even further throughout the years, the Huarache went on to become a retro sneaker staple, loved for its unique and stylish look and amazing comfort. The Huarache was groundbreaking when it originally released because of the technology it introduced to the world: the Huarache construction. Hatfield took inspiration for the design from the neoprene booties of water skis after he noticed how well they conformed to the foot and ankle area. The foot-hugging concept was translated to athletic footwear, and the Huarache was born. The Huarache Run is characterized by the comfortable neoprene inner bootie that is surrounded with synthetic overlays and a rubber heel cage to provide support where it is needed. The upper sits atop a Phylon™ foam midsole to cushion every step, while a classic Nike waffle rubber outsole sits below for grip.
